Lynne Binnie’s Children with Cousins – ‘Framed Portrait’

Posted in Portrait with tags , , , , on December 17, 2008 by Chris

I’ve been looking forward to blogging this shoot!  Lynne contacted me through my website asking if I could get a portrait of her children along with cousins. She wanted a picture of all 5 grand children for the grand parents.

So the shoot was set for a sunday afternoon! It was good fun and very hard work (LOL) Typical children, full of life & energy  – ideal for stunning kids portraits!

In an ideal world, children will sit and smile straight into the camera, but that doesn’t always happen and in my opinion it’s better when they  just run about as you can capture them how they are in real life!

I must admit I was shattered at the end but I knew I had some cracking shots on the card and drove straight home to start editing!

With the amount of life and energy these guys had I knew we probably didn’t get the best images of them altogether so I suggested we do individual shots and design a frame to suit.

Check out the images and the frame, it’s time like this I realise I really do have the best job in the world!

Alexander Kerr & Family

Posted in Portrait with tags , , , on December 1, 2008 by Chris

Alexander contacted me through the website for family portraits.  What I remember about this night which I didn’t tell them was I nearly fell flat on my face  outside their house on the pavement, it was so cold  the road was like a sheet of ice and my car was registering -4 driving up to Armadale.

Alexander wanted family pictures of his family so we had his Mum and Dad, sister and boy friend and his gran!

After just 10 mins of setting up and discussing a bit about ‘I’m a Celebrity get me out of here…’  we were ready to shoot!

Some brilliant family images, I enjoyed the session, I hope you all did too

Ellie! Just how cute is she?

This was a shoot for Jacquie Hughes Granddaughter, Ellie.  Jacquie is the friend of a bride who has booked me for her wedding in 2009.  I went along with my home mobile studio and shot Ellie’s portraits in their front livingroom. When I arrived Jacquie mentioned that Ellie was coming down with something and wasn’t her usual self. Poor Ellie, she was a bit upset and was not her usual self, but boy did we get the cutest images ever!!!

Check these out!

Posted in Portrait with tags on November 16, 2008 by Chris

Since I launched the ‘Perfect Portraits’ offer last month I’ve been pretty busy shooting families which is why I’ve not had much chance to update my blog.  My mobile studio is working really well and last week I had the opportunity to shoot the Weir family in Falkirk!  Below are some of my favorite images….there was a lot to choose from! Over the next few days I’m going to post some of my favorite images from various other portrait shoots I’ve done this past month, I would love to blog them all but there have been so many and I’ve had some fantastic kids

James & Amanda!

Posted in Wedding with tags on October 22, 2008 by Chris

It was a pleasure shooting James & Amanda’s wedding in Hamilton.  James arrived with plenty of time, Amanda arrived on time….but all we needed was Amanda’s sister….. Thankfully she arrived and we were ready to go. The day before the wedding I checked the weather forecast like I always. It wasn’t good!  The BBC Weather site had it for very heavy rain, which would be a shame as the park behind the Town Hall is beautiful and I was really hoping to get some cracking shots of the 2 of them after the ceremony. Thankfully for the 2 hours before and about an hour after it, the sun was shining. I literally took the last image when the heavens opened…. so it was off to the reception!

I’ve never met anyone who hates getting their photos taken as much as Amanda. My style is to keep things modern and natural and I personally think Amanda looks absolutely stunning in these images!

Guys I had great fun at your wedding, you made me feel very welcome and part of the crowd and I thank you again for including me in your meal! It was a pleasure!

The wedding of Amy & Peter

Posted in Wedding on October 2, 2008 by Chris

I had the honour and privilege of photographing Amy & Peter’s wedding on September the 19th, 2008. Amy & Peter were married in Grangemouth with their reception held at The Glenbervie Hotel, Larbert. I started off the day capturing the dizzy preparations at Amy’s house where all the girls were getting ready, before moving onto Pete’s place where all the guys seemed remarkably calm and organised! The ceremony was at 1pm and Amy arrived, on time, cool as a cucumber and looking stunning!  The Glenbervie Hotel was a lovely setting for some beautiful ‘couple shots’ around the scenic grounds. After the speeches and meal, I was spoiled for choice for photo opportunities with the dance floor packed for every song! The only fright we had all day was when it started to drizzle with rain on our arrival at the hotel, but, thankfully, it only lasted 10 minutes, which gave everyone time to enjoy the champagne and canapes! It was an amazing day, everyone looked fabulous…hope you enjoy this sneak peek!

The wedding of Donna & Barry

Posted in Wedding on September 5, 2008 by Chris

Donna & Barry got married in the town of Letham, their wedding day being held in the beautiful Letham Hotel. The weather was with us, it threatened a little bit of rain just before the ceromony but thanksfully nothing came of it. Donna looked stunning in her ivory wedding dress and she arrived in style in a Bentley. The day ran to plan, it was perfect, we got all the formal shots out in the gardens behind the hotel before the wedding really got underway with the speeches & meal! The speeches were fanastic Barry’s best man revealed a few things about Barry I couldn’t possibly mention here….the meal and first dance then followed, with every one getting up on the floor with the happy couple!

Guy’s it was a fabulous day, I was an honor to photograph your day, I’m posting a few images as a sneak peek for you coming back from your Honeymoon in Mexico.  Enjoy!

The wedding of Rachel & Garry

Posted in Wedding on August 26, 2008 by Chris

I always like things a little different, and coming down the river Spey by a boat to arrive to your wedding is certainly different, and very cool!

Rachel looked stunning in her red dress, we started the day off getting ready at Braeriach, before I took Rachel in my car down stream to her awaiting boat (turns out I’m more than just a photographer lol) Once I knew she was safely onboard I got some amazing shots of her sailing under the bridge. I had to work fast though, I needed to drive back to the venue and down to the little jetty BEFORE she arrived…. It’s time like these that I LOVE THIS JOB!

The rest of the day was fantastic, we had a few rain showers, but nothing we couldn’t handle, the rain stayed off during the outdoor ceremony which was the main thing!

Garry & Rachel, you both made me feel so welcome and I hope you enjoy your images!  Thomas was a star on the day! he was so cute in his suit! I wish you guys all the very best for the future, CHRIS
